Software & AI Engineer

You sit comfortably at the intersection of software engineering, data and AI. You can design a complex system from scratch, build it front to back, and integrate AI into environments that were never built for it. You take ownership of the technical direction, and you can explain the hard parts simply to your team and to the client.

The work

You build end-to-end AI solutions, usually delivered as a working app with both a front end and a back end. Most of what you build is new: greenfield, futuristic solutions for industries that haven't seen anything like them yet. You typically run two projects at once, in small teams of three or four, working closely with the client to ship value fast. You own the solution design, lead the technical side, and make smart calls about how AI fits into the client's existing systems.

In practice, you work for clients in maritime & offshore, manufacturing, logistics & warehousing, and oil & gas. You build on cloud infrastructure alongside modern AI tooling like LangChain, vector databases, and knowledge graphs.

What you bring

• More than two years building software and AI systems end-to-end, across front-end and back-end

• Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean, well-tested code and the habits that keep a system maintainable, with Python as your default

• Real experience taking LLMs into production: RAG, prompt engineering and orchestration

• Comfortable building and provisioning in the cloud with infrastructure as code (Terraform)

• The judgement to own a solution design, lead a small technical team, and take real ownership

• A talent for making complex technical material simple, internally and with clients

• A master's in a technical field (AI, Computer Science, Engineering or similar)

• Fluency in Dutch and English
